A wonderful introduction to this stunning and still often traditional Southeast Asian country. Our Vietnam North-West Tour, combines many of the country’s essential sites and some of its hidden places with a wide variety of destinations and landscapes. 

Beginning and finishing in Vietnam’s elegant capital Hanoi the tour includes Ba Be National Park, the mountainous province Cao Bang, the remote Ha Giang, magical Sapa and breathtaking Mu Cang Chai.

DAY 1

DAY 2

Hanoi – Ba Be 

Departing from Hanoi, we embark on a route up into mountain areas north of Hanoi. Then onwards to Ba Be Lake National Park, one of the largest natural lakes in Vietnam, home to many kinds of bird, scenic valleys, towering rocky outcrops, underground tributaries rivers, a gigantic cave and local ethnic minorities, including the Tay, Red Dao and Hmong.

Following a relaxing boat trip, we stroll along the river front. The night is spent in the traditional stilt-house of a Tay family

DAY 3

Ba Be – Cao Bang

Boat trip 1-2 hours in Ba Be lake and  we take to the road again for a 90 km drive, arriving in Cao Bang town around lunch time. The rest of the day we go to the border village of Pac Po, home to the local Nung ethnic minority and visit Coc Bo (the Source), the tiny natural cave lived in briefly by Ho Chi Minh when he returned to Vietnam after thirty years of self-imposed exile.
We hike along a rocky path, take in the cave and explore its stunning visual neighbourhood, before we return to the town for an overnight stay in resort .
The area of Cao Bang is home to a number of ethnic groups with traditional culture such as: the Tay, the Nung, the Zao...
Ban Gioc Waterfall is 92km from Cao Bang Town, right on the border between Vietnam and China. The waterfall includes layers of moss and water dropping down from tens of meter above. The road trip from Cao Bang to Ban Gioc offers captivating scenery.

DAY 4

Cao Bang – Bao Lac 

After breakfast, Drive following road number 40 to Bao Lac via  Tinh Tuc dictrict . You will see diffient minority people on the way and the green mountain and scenery.
Cao Bang is a mountainous province located in the North East of Vietnam. Cao Bang is bordered to the north and the east by China, to the West by Ha Giang Province and to the south by Tuyen Quang, Bac Kan and Lang Son Provinces. Cao Bang possesses a terrain of high mountains alternated by flat valleys or forests which guarantees the visitors traveling through the province an unforgettable experience.

DAY 5

Bao Lac - Meo Vac 

Drive 150km thru mountain and ski trails route  .you will watch some small streamer and beautiful landscamp. Meo Vac District of Ha Giang is 150km from the provincial capital town of Ha Giang Province. Meo Vac shares the border with Dong Van District of Ha Giang Province and Bao Lam District of Cao Bang Province. Meo Vac shares the border with Dong Van District of Ha Giang Province and Bao Lam District of Cao Bang Province. Meo Vac has most of the terrain in the Rock Plateau of Dong Van and above 1000m above sea level. The road from Meo Vac Town to Dong Van Town is 23km which is via the sublime beauty of Ma Pi Leng Pass. Meo Vac has a harsh climate in the winter which is from November to April with dry and freezing cold weather

DAY 6

Meo Vac – Đong Van - Quan Ba

Dong Van Karst Plateau Global Geopark is located in the northeastern province of Viet Nam, Ha Giang. It is the first Geopark in Viet Nam and the second one in Southeast Asia.
Dong Van Geopark is home to 17 ethnic groups which creates the unique and rich cultural heritage of this area. The socio - economic life of the geopark should be improved to achieve the Millennium Development Goals that Vietnam committed. Thus, the management Board of Dong Van Karst Plateau Global Geopark has associated with its partners in seeking support from organizations to develop sustainable tourism, conservation of heritage values and Earth science research.

DAY 7

Dong Van  -  Quan Ba  – Hoang Su Phi 

Hoang Su Phi is among the most untouched area of Ha Giang Province of Vietnam. The area was separated from the mainstream society until very recently. The capital town of Hoang Su Phi District is 60km from Tan Quang Town and 100km from Ha Giang provincial capital.
Traveling to Hoang Su Phi nowadays, the visitors will be charmed by the pristine beauty of the wild mountains and the authentic culture of the local ethnic groups which include: the Nung, the Flower H'mong, the Tay and the Ha Nhi People...Hoang Su Phi market is in session every Sunday which offers great opportunities to learn about the life of the local people.

DAY 8

Hoang Su Phi – Simacai – Muong Khuong

Your guide will lead you on a beautiful Hoang Su Phi Sunday market . After that , you will continue to Simacai via Xi Man .

The area of Muong Khuong is home to 13 ethnic groups with unique cultures, lifestyles and languages; all wearing their traditional attires, working on evergreen terraces. Hill tribes gather for the weekend market for trade and for meeting with lovers. Muong Khuong is a good place for quiet holidays, for cultural discovering, and/or for trekking and should not be missed on your trip to Vietnam.

DAY 9

Muong Khuong –  Bac Ha  

Bắc Hà is a rural district of Lào Cai Province in the Northeast region of Vietnam. It is the capital of the region of the Flower Hmong, one of the 54 minorities of Vietnam and of the six groups of Hmong people . It is famous for its Sunday morning market, where thousands of locals gathered, the women dressed in their very intricate handmade costumes .

Bac Ha - Sapa

Sa Pa is a frontier township and capital of Sa Pa District in Lào Cai Province in north-west Vietnam . The first permanent French civilian resident arrived in Sa Pa in 1909. With its attractive continental climate, health authorities believed the site had potential. By 1912 a military sanatorium for ailing officers had been erected along with a fully fledged military garrison. Then, from the 1920s onwards, several wealthy professionals with enough financial capital also had a number of private villas built in the vicinity.

DAY 11

Sapa – Than Uyen – Mu Cang Chai

Mù Cang Chải is a district of Yen Bai province . The rice terrace fields in La Pan Tan, Che Cu Nha and Ze Xu Phinh have been recognized as national landscapes by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. There have been local festivals in Yên Bái and the Mù Cang Chải rice terrace fields have been used to attract both domestic and international tourists. This region of northwest Vietnam is poor and relatively undeveloped has a rich natural environment .

DAY 11

Mu Cang Chai  -  Ha Noi airport – Departure

Mù Cang Chải Rice Terrace has been recognized as one of the unique landscapes of Vietnam.  It was at the highest ranked national landscape in 2007.One issue faced by the local people was keeping the water sources on the land and ground for growing rice on the slope of mountain. The Hmong people developed a way to retain water by making the levelling the land on the mountain to create the rice terrace fields. Transfer to straight to Hanoi  airport and fly out . End of service
